 Sussex Medical Imaging (SMI) was established by five consultant radiologists working at Eastbourne District General Hospital with facilities for private patients there and at The Esperance
Private Hospital and The Lushington Clinic in Eastbourne. They are Drs Hugh J Anderson, David C Howlett, David V Hughes, David F Sallomi and Gillian MT Watson.
Additional Consultant colleagues also working with them are Drs Paula McKenzie, Neil Barlow, Emma Owens and Martin Sambrook who contribute to the provision of a comprehensive radiological service which includes:
- General radiology
- Nuclear medicine imaging
- Bone Densitomety (DEXA scanning)
- Ultrasound scanning
- State of the art multi-slice CT scanning including coronary artery CT imaging
 - Coronary calcium scoring
- General and oncology scanning
- All general, oncology and musculoskeletal MR scanning
- Mammography, breast MR & ultrasound
- A wide range of interventional procedures including uterine fibroid embolisation.
